India Trip, Day 49: celebrations begin

December 1 (Sat) - Day 49:  celebrations begin

The long wooden sticks and metal poles are coming in.  Carpet, chairs, tables, are being carried.

The workers are balancing all the wood from one corner to the other, with the support of metal poles, and tying yards of cloth to the wood with ropes.  Checking the ropes tightly and making sure the whole thing does not collapse in the next few days in the chaos of an Indian wedding.

After hours of toil, the labors have converted the street in front of the house into an indoor banquet hall with bright maroons and clean whites.

Cloth on the sides to create boundary and privacy.  Cloth on top for shade and prevent leaves falling from tree.  Because this area is going to be used for cooking and dining.  Right outside the house, yet connected from within.

Now it has finally started to feel like shaadi ka ghar (a house where a wedding is going to take place).

Let the celebrations begin.
