Silicone Cooking Tool Set for Nonstick Utensils

I have seen numerous people misuse their nonstick pots and pans.  I have seen some pans in which nonstick coating has been scratched and washed with abrasive cleaners so badly that the pan has started to look like aluminum.  Firstly, you're not supposed to use stainless steel cooking spoons and scratch the whole nonstick layer of a pan.  Secondly, I have seen several people use wooden cooking spoons or nylon ones (the kinds that feel like plastic).   Wooden spoons are fine to use in nonstick pots and pans as long as you are not stirring rigorously and destroying the nonstick coating.  Nylon are fine too but when you fry with it on high heat they tend to develop bubbles or have indentation wherever it touches high heat (or also if you leave it touching the edge of pan).

I have had this 5-piece silicone cooking utentil set for over 5 months and I LOVE it.  No major turmeric stains so far (considering how we cook Indian food twice a day).  It is BPA-free and is resistant to high heat cooking.

King Queen of Hearts | Casino Theme Invitation | Valentine's Wedding Anniversary Poster

I designed this King of Hearts Queen of Hearts themed card a few months back.  I had patiently and lovingly hand-drawn this King-Queen on a card about 6 years back for husband who was my fiancé back then.  :-)

23 reasons why having a nanand is the best thing in the world

Two years back my nanand (sister-in-law aka my husband's sister) shared a post with me that had some 15 reasons why having a bhabhi is the best thing in the world.  When I asked her if there was any post about a nanand, she asked me to write one.  And so I thought of writing one, dedicating it to her on just the right day --

Dads who "help"

I was having a conversation with someone who said to his wife: "I help so much with the kids. I am so supportive. So many of my colleagues don't even do half of what I do, they don't even change their kid's diaper. May be I should start doing that too - I will leave home for work at 9 in the morning and come back late at night and then let's see how you will handle the kids on your own. May be then you will realize how much I help."

Baby Shoes Paper Craft | Baby Shower Idea | Birthday Favor Idea

I was searching for baby shower party favor ideas and apart from stuff one could purchase, I came across many interesting things to make at home to give as return gifts to guests.  For example, filling a milk bottle or a mason jar with ingredients for cookie or cake neatly layered and using a ribbon to attach a label with instructions and a thank you note.  Homemade lip balm, homemade natural body scrub (with a cute note:  "From my shower to yours!), and personalized chocolate wrappers were some more ideas.  For baby shower on a budget, using pink or blue paper napkins and some folding techniques to form a diaper/pouch, keeping it together with a safety pin (to represent diaper pin), and filling it with candies was another simple idea.

Well, what I chose to make was these baby boy and baby girl paper shoes for my baby shower.

Baby Shower Game Ideas | Baby Shower Activity Ideas

I have been going to many friends’ baby showers lately.  When I saw people in forums ask suggestions for baby shower games, baby shower decoration ideas, baby shower return gifts, etc, I thought of compiling a post on the game ideas I came across in the baby showers I attended.

Game Idea to Play with Friends: Fun Reading Tasks

Few months back I hosted a get-together at my place for my girlfriends.  A week before the get-together when I watched one of episodes of the Ellen DeGeneres show with Meryl Streep and how Ellen asked Meryl to do a couple of tasks, I instantly knew I had to transform that idea into a game to play with my girlfriends.  And boy, we did have fun!

[Note: This game is for adults!]

Here's what I did.  I printed out the tasks on small sheets of paper, folded them, and each one picked one paper.  Then each person had to perform the task given to them.  There is no acting, no props required.  Just sit in circle and read as the task demands.

I adapted the original idea and Indianized it for my Indian friends.  I gave it a lot of thought to come up with various tasks and actually researched a great deal to get proper details for each task.  This game idea was first published on SpushtChats - so if you find any other blog/website copy my ideas you know where to come inform me!
